Grandpa Joe's
Jalapeno Crab Dip

Spicy and delicious.

About this recipe

There is nothing better than fresh crab meat from the sea.  Unfortunately, that is a luxury not available to many of us.  Fortunately, refrigerated, canned, "fresh" crab meat is available in the seafood sections of many grocery stores.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • 1 large garlic clove, chopped
  • ½ cup pickled jalapeno peppers, chopped
  • ½ cup Monterrey Jack cheese with jalapenos, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Frank's Hot Sauce
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated

Directions

  1. Combine the crab meat, garlic, jalapenos, Monterrey Jack, Worcestershire, hot sauce, salt, and mayonnaise in a mixing bowl.  Toss gently to mix.
  2. Spoon the mixture into a baking dish.  Sprinkle the cheese evenly on the top of the crab meat mixture.
  3. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven until golden brown and bubbly, or about 25 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven and let sit for about 5 minutes before serving with your favorite cracker or crusty bread.

Notes

  • Substitutions for Frank's Hot Sauce are allowed!
