Crab and Shrimp Dip

One of my early experiences with seafood!

My mother was fond of reading women's magazines.  One of her favorites was Women's Day, which always featured several recipes in each issue.  I think this is one of them from the 1950s.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon onion, grated
  • pinch garlic salt
  • 12 ounces chili sauce
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 1 cup baby shrimp, cleaned and cooked
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

  1. Combine the first five ingredients and mix well. 
  2. Place in a 9 x 6-inch dish.  Top with the chili sauce. 
  3. Layer the crab and baby shrimp evenly over the chili sauce. 
  4. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  5. Serve cold.
