Grandpa Joe's
Cheese Crisps

Another simple, but delicious, treat.

About this recipe

I like Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese for this one, but any freshly grated cheese will work equally well.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, defrosted
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
  • 4 teaspoons sesame seeds

Directions

  1. Unfold the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  2. Using a pastry brush, brush the dough with the beaten egg.
  3. Sprinkle with the cheese and sesame seeds, then roll with a rolling pin to make the cheese and seeds adhere to the pastry.
  4. Cut the pastry in half horizontally, then into desired shapes, such as diamonds or rectangles.
  5. Transfer to a lightly greased baking sheet and bake in a 425° F oven until golden, about 12 minutes.
  6. Serve hot.
