Boiled Fresh Sweet Corn

A seasonal favorite.


About this recipe

Step one of this recipe is to find a local purveyor of fresh corn picked daily, typically beginning in mid to late July and extending well into September.  It is worth the extra effort.

Ingredients

  • freshly picked sweet corn

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil.
  2. Shuck the corn.
  3. Add the corn to the water and boil, uncovered – 5 minutes for corn picked the same day and 7 minutes otherwise (timed from when the corn is added to the pot).
  4. Remove, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • More than 7 minutes will be required when boiling the corn in high altitude locations.
